I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degrees in Law, and a Master’s in Translation, acquired in Portugal, the Netherlands and the UK, respectively. Additionally, I hold a CELTA certificate, which is a University of Cambridge accredited certificate for teaching English.

I am an African lady who has lived and worked in different countries and is continuously exposed to different cultures. I speak English (native), Portuguese (native), Dutch (C1), German (B2), French (B2) and Spanish (C1). In London, I have had the opportunity to work in all these languages, in the legal field. The knowledge of these languages enables me to understand the difficulties associated with being native to these languages or to certain groups of languages. For example, the romance languages tend to have the same grammar structures, in a way that natives of these languages will tend to have similar linguistic challenges. This realisation was striking when I taught English during a Summer Camp course in 2022, in the South of England, where I taught different nationalities in the same classroom. I teach general, business and legal English and Portuguese. I tailor my lessons to your needs. We go through your daily professional vocabulary. You will talk more than I do, as you are here to feel confident and comfortable with talking in English and/or Portuguese. As a translator as well, I tend to look for the precise meaning of words and will teach you the different nuances and contextual meaning of words.
