I graduated high school in 2020 at Volkskool High in Heidelberg, Gauteng in South Africa.

In 2021, I completed the Qualifi Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language through TEFL Academy online.

I am currently in my second year of studying a Bachelor's Degree in Education at IIE Varsity College.

As a second year student teacher I live for the "ah ha" moment when a learner understands the content. I aim to teach with a learner centered approach (focusing more on the learner than the subject/content itself). My goal is to make learning about literature and equestrian theory fun and not just a whole bunch of words to be memorized. I make use of visuals and imagery when teaching content as I myself is a visual learner and I believe that comprehensible input is the best way to teach a learner new information. I strive to teach learners in ways that are relevant to them and to their everyday lives. I have 1 year tutoring experience with a grade 3 learner and teaching experience as I was employed at a pre-school during 2021. Varsity College promotes teaching experience as a big role in studying Education, so I have 6 weeks of curriculum based in-class teaching experience and community service learning.
