Hi so my name is Luke and I’ve been primarily a PE teacher for primary schools and nursery’s, every session/lesson I’ve ever taught has always been pre planned by myself based around the curriculum because I feel as a lot of curriculum sessions that get handed to me can be very repetitive and not overly creative, I look to change that!
My lessons have always been to aim to learn new things BUT to also have fun in the process while also challenging you in the process, I feel like no matter what age you are if you’re 5 or even 35 you’re more likely going to learn and listen if the certain criteria that we are doing has that element of fun in! And so far I would say the technique of teaching I’ve used seems to be working as I always see my students progressing a lot more with my way of teaching than if I was to use the lesson plans I’ve been handed to me, it’s always rewarding to also hear students say how they had fun in my lessons and that I’m there favour teacher! , I’m also a young teacher (21) and love to listen to my students on things I can improve on to make the sessions even better and take suggestions from students that may benefit them personally or as a group, the last 8/9 months I’ve worked closely with a few kids with different forms of disability’s and being able to sit down with them individually for them to express there feelings and ideas to help them has also elevate them in sports has been a real proud achievement for me because I know these students have said before me that they never really liked getting involved and would get shadowed out, so again I feel maybe because of my age they feel maybe they can open up to me more and even have a laugh and joke with me because I’m not a strict teacher at all unless I need to be! Every school I go to I always have the aim to change my students days, so anyone that’s having a bad day or has something on there mind I always hope my lesson can give them a break for a moment and smile! In my few years experience I’ve worked in 4/5 primary schools and 2 nursery’s aswell!
