I am working as a Class Teacher in an SEN setting where I teach students with a range of learning needs. I have previously worked in a variety of mainstream settings, such as nursery, primary and secondary schools, which has given me invaluable experience, particularly understanding each stage of the learning and development process. I have taught retake English to 6th form students and taught English to KS3 and 4 classes. I have a PTLLS teaching qualification which has supported my development to teaching full-time and I am still continuing to learn and develop my teaching practice.
In my current position I have learned the importance of developing and adapting teaching materials to engage and support students to reach their full potential - no student is the same and this should be reflected in their learning activities so they can reach their aspirations.
I am currently in my final year of studying for my English Literature and Language degree through the Open University, which I hope to complete in 2024.
