I am an ambitious experienced Individual who is willing to work and eager to learn. I pride myself in my excellent communication skills and on the other hand I approach everything with a Bubbly and friendly manner. I have a positive attitude , great work ethic and can take on any challenges and tasks that I am set to do. I am a qualified Teaching Assistant I have worked with with SEN students with different ranges of disability. I have worked at a SEN College called Harbour House and also Crypt High school my experience working as a teaching assistant at both the secondary school and SEN college is below. CRYPT Secondary School 29th September 2022 till 5th October 2022 : My Teaching assistant job role involves me Providing guidance, educational and emotional support to students with learning or behavioural difficulties and special needs whilst in the classroom alongside assisting students to overcome their learning barriers such as Asperger's syndrome and autism. I specialise in Providing learning support for pupils in small groups and in 1-1 settings Ensure each pupil can access the full range of learning experiences, including providing modified learning materials that are tailored to each individual pupil e.g. worksheets, visual prompt cards etc. Harbour House college 21st November 2022 till 31 March 2023: I worked at Harbour house which is a special educational needs college which provides multiple ranges of support to meet all special needs students from ages 17 to 21 to a very high standard. My teaching assistant job role at Harbour house involved exploring the hobbies and interests of special needs students to get to know their communities and form friendships in a safe and supportive environment. My teaching assistant job role also involved me helping to develop students self advocacy to make choices, understanding their feelings and emotions as-well as other students alongside improving their mental health. At Harbour house my teaching assistant job role also involved providing learning support to SLD students in small groups and in a 1-1 setting with support of the Tutor within the classroom. Ensuring each SLD student can access the full range of learning experiences , including providing modified learning materials that are tailored to each of their needs for example worksheets , visual prompt cards , whiteboard ,pictures computers , coloured paper. Whilst working at Harbour house there was also different ranges of fun activities provided to meet SLD students needs such as cooking , making a clothes folder within the classroom they can use at home, different ranges of sports such as yoga , volley ball etc,, dancing , painting , cards games and trips within the gloucester area.
