I attended St Albans Girls School from aged 11-18, leaving with 9 GCSES and 3 A-levels in Politics, English Literature and Sociology, achieving grades A & B. Since year 12 I have regularly tutored GCSE and KS3 English and Sociology but I am also capable of tutoring UK and US politics - I have just finished my first year of my Criminology degree at the University of Liverpool, achieving 2 Firsts and 3 2:1s in my most recent assessments.

I’m currently a second year Criminology student at the University of Liverpool - For the past 2 years and be helped both younger students at my secondary school and family friends in both English (Lit & Lang) and Sociology at GCSE Level, however since starting university I would now be able to tutor at A-Level in both English and Sociology, and also Politics if needed - My preferred method of teaching would be lots and lots of essay practice as at both GCSE and A-Level, using a correct essay structure to deliver a convincing and sustained argument can be the difference between a grade C and a grade A. However I also like to focus on learning the required knowledge to fill up essays and make them dense enough to achieve top grades; this was a skill I learnt during year 13 that was crucial to achieving top grades and I feel is the most important for students to be confident in when heading into exams. I prefer a more relaxed method of teaching, making sure students feel comfortable and aren’t learning above their level is vital for progress which is why I incorporate regular 5 minute catch-ups at the end of every lesson just to make sure that students are noticing their own improvements and are feeling confident with any of the content we will be covering.
