My name is Aram and I have been a certified Spanish teacher since 2017. I studied a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language and, additionally, I obtained a Certification in Teaching English focused on communicative and self-directed teaching. Currently, I am about to start a Master's Degree in Educational Innovation.
Personally, I love reading, listening to podcasts, listening to music, singing, dancing, watching movies and/or series, and going to the beach. My favorite thing in the world is my profession, as I enjoy teaching my language professionally to people who speak another language as their first language. I have been teaching Spanish for over 5 years. Since I was a child, my interest in learning other languages motivated me to become a certified Spanish teacher by studying a degree focused in the area. Subsequently, I prepared myself to obtain an additional certification in teaching English. The methodology used in my classes is called the Communicative Approach, which is based on the idea that a foreign language is successfully learned by using it in real communicative contexts. When students are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for foreign language acquisition are used and this allows them to learn to use the foreign language in question. Therefore, my classes are based on both grammar and conversation, since grammar is necessary to communicate using different structures and verb tenses. In addition to the focus on grammar and conversation, I always make sure that my lesson plans include sessions that prioritize pronunciation practice, vocabulary learning and cultural exposure to different Spanish-speaking countries.
Before starting any Spanish course with me, I offer an introductory session free of charge to apply a test in order to get to know each other, discover your learning style and determine your level in the language if you have studied it before. The introductory session lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
